The time I remember I was mindlessly following was kindergarten. It was your first year of school, so you would follow your teachers teachings and this would get you to first grade. If you didn’t follow you would get held back and have to retake the course. The teachers were strict on what you learned, sure there was creativity, but they would tell you how to be creative, like materials you would need, when it was do and how it had to be done. Then there was nap time where the teachers would tell you to go to sleep, and they would plan another lesson. School is basically like Animal Farm. The teachers tell you when you need to get to class, when you play outside, when you eat, when you sleep, and what you would do on that school day. The teachers are the “pigs”. They get trained, certified, and the teach more kids, who will probably become more teachers. If the teachers learn to be more creative then we could be more free and relaxed about learning. It’s almost like a factory: 1.Teachers teach kids 2. Kids learn 3. Some kids will become teachers who will repeat this process.
So here is my question to Mr. Amico: Who teaches the teachers?

As well as I can remember is that we had alot of our own creativity going on not what others said to do even though I never fit in. Countryboy in a class of rich kids= trouble
I was the little kid who would never listen to the teacher and would run around pulling the fire alarms and make them freak out. I should do that again.=]
lets hope you don’t and say you did. I was usually the quiet one creating devious little pranks and plans that often worked. But now a days I really use fireworks. :]
Ready for the feild trip on tues. it is really sad we have to miss Mr. Amico’s class and reading for marching around in dirt and mud. It is tobad you had to cancel the fun day on May 12th even though I couldn’t of gone 3(.
I know, isn’t it a tragedy when we have to miss out on a class like Mr Amico’s. i just really hope he is understanding that this is for the good of science and fun. I like to think of it a ”educative recess”
