Realistic

Yes, this scene is realistic because what person do you know that can shoot a girls father while she’s standing right there? A senseless man with no emotion probably would, but not in this scene. Scout makes the man [Mr. Cunningham] realize what he is about to do. He is about to kill two men, one who is a father and one who is presumably innocent until proved guilty. Scout has the smarts to swade a person away from an event like this one. Anyone does, but no one is incapable of doing something.
Scout’s character has matured since she was younger, she has the ability to see what kind of character that person has. The group of men only want to kill Robinson because they THINK he is guilty of rape. Just because you think something is true dosen’t mean its necessarily true. Atticus is there because he is protecting a man that is a human equal and Scout sees that and realises whats right and what is wrong. She decides to step in and quell the mob of angry men.
Scout’s character can be described as heroic, antagonistic, and step up to a much more mature level. Even though the people around her don’t think she will become a ”proper lady” she will will grow out of her fighting and antagonistic behavior. Kids will be kids. It is just part of what makes us human. What Scout displayed in the jail was an act of heroism and a bit of role-playing.

One Response to “Realistic”

  1. It seems like the men are senseless and emotionless, but Scout helps them realize their inhumane ideas. So you think Scout knew what she was doing and that by talking to Mr. Cunningham it would change things? I am going to need some more support to believe that idea. You need to work on giving details to support your ideas instead of giving ideas with no basis for your thought. I look forward to your evolving writing.
